The creative process is not something you can force.
Sheer will alone isn’t enough to make work you’re happy with.
The creative process needs you open to showing up to the page/ your craft, with nothing but ideas, intention, a willingness, and humility.
The beautiful thing is, when you develop a healthy relationship to your creativity, you don’t have to force a thing.
You need only a little courage to sit in the discomfort of the unknown and let it guide your curiosity. And this can be cultivated.
This is how a creative process becomes a creative practice.
I’m happy to announce that January 13, I will be hosting an online creative writing workshop at 1-3 PM EST on staying generative and keeping our creative fire fed during this wintering.
Take Care Of Your Fire is a creative writing workshop intent on answering the questions:
How can we keep our creative fire alive in times of crisis, low energy, and un-motivation?
What is our responsibility as artists?
How can I stay inspired and active in my creative practice when my energy doesn’t seem to align with my intentions?
How can writing bridge the distance between having an idea and doing what it takes to bring them to life?
In this workshop we will read poems and prose on the creative process, and write unique mantras and affirmations meant to support us on our artistic journeys.
We will learn from one another and share tools, techniques, and approaches to keep our creativity flowing. We will uncover the ways we are already generative and create practices to stay that way. By the end of this workshop you will have practical and useful toolkit to support your creative practice and keep your artistic fire alive.
There are only 12 seats available for this workshop.
A zoom link will be sent upon registration.
